Who am I? And how could I

Explain myself, since I’m not myself anymore?

Who am I? Forgot the rhymes,

All the poems have gone out of my mind.

Never slows down, it’s not quite right,

How confusing to keep changing,

As if the old myself had been left behind!

Nonsense all around,

Almost drowned in a pool of my own tears

And familiar grounds begin to shake

And I’m going down

Even my name sounds empty now

So please, tell me how I could not lose my calm!

What happens on the birth of butterflies?

What? How and why?

Are they but the dreams of the caterpillars?

Ghosts of logic whisper in my ear

                        Who what why are you?

That soon I might well disappear.

WHO ARE YOU?

Is this for real?

Nonsense all around,

I’ve been changed so many times since morning

And I’ve seen a grin without a cat!

What I’m driving at is

Even words are circling round

So please, tell me how I could not lose my calm!

Even you one day will turn into a chrysalis

Won’t you be amazed at such a metamorphosis?

            Wrong from beginning to end

Why is it you’re not content?

            Three inches is actually

A very good height to be

Yet one side will make you small,

The other will make you tall,

What I mean, you do not see...

            The mushroom obviously!

What happens on the birth of butterflies?

                        What? How and why?

Are they but the dreams of the caterpillars?

Ghosts of logic whisper in my ear

Who what why are you?

That soon I might well disappear.

Is this for real?

Come and join our dance

Come and join our dance!

What happens on the birth of butterflies?

                        What? How and why?

Are they but the dreams of the caterpillars?

Ghosts of logic whisper in my ear

Who what why are you?

That soon I might well disappear.

WHO ARE YOU?

Is this for real?

If someone were to awake

The dreamer who’s dreaming me

Will I survive the break

In my shattered identity?
